Remember the horrible Jason Jones crash at the 1998 X Games? Here’s another similar story but the studs are longer now and bite harder.

Dear Tekrider,
Thank you for making high quality protective gear. I was wearing my SX Pro Lite vest and SX Pro Shorts at a W.S.A. National Snocross event during the 2003-2004 season, when a Mod snowmobile landed on top of me during my Stock Practice. The impact was severe enough to crack my helm et, tear my knee braces and tear my Tekvest. The Doctors were amazed that the only permanent injury I suffered was nerve damage in my shoulder blade from the impact of the 450 lb. Snowmobile and rider. I did have cuts from where the snowmobile’s picks tore through my clothes at any unprotected areas. I can’t imagine the injuries I would have received if I wasn’t wearing the best protective gear in the industry. I’m sure glad you did the UHMW upgrade last year - I know it made a difference.
I always wear my Tekvest when trail riding, and encourage others to do the same. People ask me why I wear it and I tell them, because you never know what might happen. We spend thousands of dollars on our toys to make sure we have them in the best possible condition. I would encourage everyone to spend some of that money on protective gear because, just like you say, we’ve got to be somewhere Monday morning. You can always replace your toys, but not your body!
Sincerely,
Steve Chiodo
